Mariarosaria is a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College Cork (UCC). Her research explores the gut–brain axis and its role in health and disease, with a current focus on women’s health. She studies how the gut and reproductive microbiomes communicate with each other, the brain, and the hormonal system to influence physical and mental health, aiming to identify new microbiome-based strategies to improve women’s health and wellbeing.
