Our Partners
The ENDO1000 project is operating out of the University of Edinburgh. Our labs and offices are based at the Centre for Reproductive Health within the Institute for Regeneration and Repair.
From financial support, to companies dedicating their time and resource to ENDO1000, to our patients signing up to participate in the study – we are incredibly grateful to our supporters.
If you too would like to find out how you, or your organization can support the ENDO1000 project, please email Leisa Thomas or phone her on 07850 695520 for further information.
Dr Marie Macklin CBE
Dr Marie Macklin CBE is a businesswoman, investor and entrepreneur. Marie’s story is one of the energy, enterprise and tenacity needed to get to the top in the hard hat world of property development and construction and in the sophisticated world of finance and investment.
After buying and transforming her father’s property development company she set off on the journey of business and community innovation and transformation that she is so passionate about. For Marie, investment and regeneration are shaped by sustainability and social capital, putting people and place ahead of product.
Hundreds of budding young and ambitious entrepreneurs have benefited from Marie’s generosity with both her time, investment, and knowledge. She is a fervent supporter of “Brand U.K.” and its position on the global economic stage. She takes every opportunity to promote and sell the place of her birth – Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, and Scotland.
Through Marie’s, ‘Special Projects’ and personal experience with endometriosis, she commissioned the ENDO1000, #TALKEndo women’s health campaign with the focus on building awareness on the impact of endometriosis on women’s personal and professional lives. The campaign will also concentrate on raising £1million pounds to fund the ENDO1000 research.
“It’s now time to #TALKEndo and do all that we can to support, Professor Andrew Horne and his wonderful team here at Edinburgh University – drive forward this pioneering research that will transform the lives of millions of women here at home and abroad.” Marie

Endo Warriors West Lothian
‘Endo Warriors WL’ is a grass roots, independent ‘Support, Action and Awareness Group’, founded in 2017 by Candice McKenzie and Claire Beattie.
“Together, we have worked hard to change the perception of endometriosis and menstrual health. We campaign and lobby to give our community a voice. Clinical research intrigues us. Professor Horne, Professor Saunders and the ENDO1000 Team was our only choice for fundraising and dialogue. Understanding the cause of endometriosis and the inflammatory process is paramount for us and the community we represent. We get involved with ‘March in March’, pop on our tartan to ‘kilt walk’, and we love to encourage others to think about ENDO1000 for their fundraising plans. We look forward to continuing our excellent work together.”
