£22,000 raised for ENDO1000
Auctions, prize draws and some incredible speakers led to a successful night of fundraising for our project!
On Tuesday 6th May, ENDO1000 hosted a charity dinner at The Mound in Edinburgh to raise not only funds for the project, but awareness and support for sufferers of endometriosis.
Throughout the dinner we heard from project co-director Professor Andrew Horne, and project co-ordinator and specialist research nurse Priscilla Fernandez about the impact ENDO1000 could have for those suffering with Endometriosis. Speaker Kayleigh Black also gave a moving talk about her personal experience of endometriosis and how it changed her life. Endometriosis effects everything from work and relationships to pregnancy and chronic pain. 51% of sufferers say it effects their work, and Sufferers of endometriosis can wait between 8 and 10 years for a diagnosis, leaving brain fog, unease and an impact on their wider mental health. We are not only urging people to help fund our research, but to truly understand what this could mean, on a personal level, for people like Kayleigh. Her voice and story are an inspiration to our work.

The event featured an auction with donations such as a 3-night stay at a holiday home in Dorset, a Borough Kitchen cooking masterclass, and a poster from The Italian Job, signed by Michael Caine. Along with a prize draw, including prizes such as a Stichelton cheese round, tours at Lind and Lime and Port of Leith, and tickets for West End shows like Oti Mabuse at The Adelphi Theatre and Melissa Errico: Sondheim in The City at Cadogan Hall.
We want to thank the companies who purchased tables for the evening: Alpha FMC, Gynaecology Plus, Union Direct, Emperor, and FNZ. We would also like to thank everyone who donated items for both our prize draw, and our auction: Muckle Brig, Wellbeck Farm Shop, Forever Great, The Palmerston Edinburgh, Thistle Down Wines, and our ambassadors,

Phoebe Noble and Marie Macklin. This element of the evening was a key part of its success.
A final, huge, thank you to Lloyds Banking Group and Alpha FMC for helping us make this happen!
The £22,000 raised at this event means that 22 more people can participate in our life-changing research.
