Sanchia Alasia

Equality, diversity and inclusion and HR Expert

It took 17 years for Sanchia to get a diagnosis of endometriosis. Throughout that time she was experiencing pelvic pain, vomiting, and missed days of school and work.

Sanchia feels fortunate to have had supportive workplaces who are flexible with her needs. One thing she didn’t expect from her endometriosis was how difficult it can make getting pregnant – she has undergone IVF seven times.

She has tried to turn her pain into purpose by sitting on the board of an endometriosis charity – Endometriosis UK.

“There is still much work to do to raise awareness of the condition but also to find effective ways to manage it and a cure. I hope that through my ambassador role, I can shine a light on the condition, how it affects women and spur the medical community to do more to support us.”
