When she was finally diagnosed aged 31, Emma had been waiting twenty years to understand why she had been experiencing such extreme pain and poor mental health.
Her treatments have included surgery, the pill, Mirena coil and pain relief – none of which currently work for her.
Emma has spoken very publicly about her endometriosis using her professional and social platforms to educate people on what endo is and to advocate for better health care and diagnoses. Although she has had many successes in her career endometriosis has at times set her back and feel like she has been restricted.
