Andrea is a medical anthropologist at the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society at the University of Edinburgh. Her research explores how cultural ideas about gender, bodies, knowledge, nature, and technology shape medicine and reproduction. Andrea is an Early Career Ambassador with the World Endometriosis Society, European Regional Coordinator for the Social sciencEs Endometriosis Network (SEEN), and a member of the UK Young Academy. She has written books on birth and hormones, and is currently working on a manuscript about endometriosis.
